I involve myself with all aspects of the work we do together.
I’ll dive deep to understand your business as a whole, asking questions to gain a deeper understanding.
If I can’t get this level of insight, I’ll eventually step away from the work.
I got into tech after my first startup failed — partly because I didn’t understand it, and mostly because I didn’t see it as something worth learning.
Since then, I won’t work with people who openly or subtly refuse to engage with tech, treating it as either incomprehensible or, worse, irrelevant to them.
They don’t need to build the tech.
But if they refuse to engage with the core of what we do, they’ll never grasp the value and complexity of the work we’re trying to do together.
The best work I’ve done was with teams who saw tech as interesting, even fun to explore.
Never something to fear or dismiss as “someone else’s problem.”
I believe lasting work needs momentum from the start, so I will always push to pragmatically scope the first steps of our work together, aiming for measurable impact as soon as possible.
I thrive in environments with an energetic pace, where people actively give and welcome feedback throughout, not just at the end. I love sharing work in progress, and expect the same from you.
I’m not a “here are the specs, just build it” kind of tech guy.
If I see a critical need, I’ll challenge how we define our work.
In return, I welcome challenges to my approach.
As an entrepreneur at heart, I’ll influence our work beyond just the tech and product dimensions.
