Story time!

We started the real work at the end of summer 2022.

The goal was to be ready for Christmas to ship 1000+ first issues of 2 different lines of 36 pages magazines, for 4-7 years old and 8-12 years old kids.

The team behind the new product had completed a successful crowdfunding campaign, and was working hard on the artistic edition & production for the mags. But they wouldn’t be able to ship 1k+ issues manually. They needed tech to automate the PDF generation & print export.

Talk about some pressure, delivering magazines to children across France, without failing them for Christmas!

Long story short, after several roadblocks, chief among them being unable to send from our servers the generated PDFs to the printer based in Normandy, and using our own computers connected to the production environment to FTP the heck out of them very late in the night, we shipped the mags to the 1k+ kids for Christmas. Our first mission was a success ✌️

We then switched to build, maintain and support mode, adding on new features with the project team in place in the leanest way possible, to support the team through their daily ops around the project (marketing, support, admin, etc).

Milestones & KPIs

  1. Launched the leanest possible internal app from the ground up, in a very tight deadline
  2. Supported with tech the delivery of the first 1000+ mags
  3. Supported with tech the team support & admin ops around two lines of magazines with 40+ issues
  4. Supported with tech the marketing team building a funnel from website to internal app to marketing back-office ops (5k+ qualified leads processed in the funnel)
